ImageFX is Google's latest AI image generation tool, designed to create high-quality images based on text prompts using the Imagen 2 model.
What is ImageFX?
Google ImageFX is the latest AI image generation tool from Google, developed by the DeepMind lab using the advanced Imagen 2 model. It is designed to generate high-quality images based on text prompts, addressing common challenges in text-to-image systems, such as avoiding visual artifacts.
Features of ImageFX
- Text-to-Image Generation: Users can input text prompts, such as "a dog riding a surfboard," and ImageFX will generate corresponding images.
- Expressive Chips: Allows users to quickly try and adjust keywords in text prompts to explore different creative variations.
- High-Quality Image Generation: ImageFX claims to generate the highest quality images, especially in handling common challenges like creating realistic human faces and hands.
- SynthID Digital Watermark: To prevent images from being used for misinformation or deepfakes, Google embeds a SynthID watermark in generated images. This watermark is invisible to humans but can be used to identify AI-generated images.
- Content Safety Measures: Google has implemented a series of safety measures in ImageFX, including limiting training data to prevent the generation of violent, offensive, or sexually suggestive content, and setting filters to block the generation of images of known or named individuals.
- IPTC Metadata: All images generated with ImageFX include IPTC metadata, providing users with additional information about the image's origin and generation process.
How to Use ImageFX
ImageFX is currently available only in Google's AI Test Kitchen and is open to English users in the US, Kenya, New Zealand, and Australia. Users can try ImageFX and other experimental AI tools from Google, such as MusicFX (for music generation) and TextFX (for text stylization), on this platform. Here are the steps to use ImageFX:
- Visit the official website of ImageFX: https://aitestkitchen.withgoogle.com/tools/image-fx
- Enter a prompt on the left side, and ImageFX will automatically optimize the prompt and group it into Expressive Chips.
- Click "Generate" to produce the desired image. You can regenerate the image or modify it by clicking on the grouped adjectives or style words.
